Secure Your Site (SSL)¶
A padlock in the browser — and the https:// at the start of your address — tells visitors your site is safe. Every Blue Nebula Hosting website includes a free SSL certificate that's renewed automatically. Here's how to turn it on.
What SSL does¶
SSL encrypts the connection between your visitor's browser and your website. It protects passwords, payment details, and personal information. Sites without it show a "not secure" warning.
Enabling SSL on your website¶
- Log in to your control panel.
- Go to Web and click the domain you want to secure.
- Look for the SSL or Let's Encrypt option and enable it.
- If there's a Force HTTPS or redirect to SSL option, turn that on too. It sends anyone who visits the plain version straight to the secure one.
How it's managed¶
Once enabled, your free certificate renews itself automatically. You don't need to do anything — just leave it on.
Seen a "not secure" warning? It usually means SSL isn't enabled yet, or the certificate hasn't finished issuing. Give it a few minutes, or contact support for a hand.
