Common Email Problems

Email problems are the most common thing people need help with. Here are the typical issues and how to fix them. If you're stuck, contact support.

I can't send or receive email

  1. Check your settings. Your phone/computer needs the right incoming (IMAP/POP) and outgoing (SMTP) settings. See Set up on your phone and Set up on a computer.
  2. Check your connection. Make sure you're online and using the right server.
  3. Check the password. A wrong password blocks sending and receiving. See Change or reset a mailbox password.

Email going to spam

This is usually a deliverability issue — your domain's DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) aren't set up or are wrong. See Email deliverability. Once those records are correct, your mail lands in the inbox.

"Mailbox full"

Your mailbox has a storage limit. Delete old emails or move them to a folder. If it's still full, your plan may need more storage.

Password not working

  1. Reset it — see Change or reset a mailbox password.
  2. Make sure you're using the email address, not just the username, if required.
  3. After resetting, update it on all your devices.

Can't log in to webmail

  • Check the correct webmail URL.
  • Confirm the email address and password.
  • If it's an Email Hosting account, see Log in to webmail.

Email to an address bounces

  • Double-check you typed the address correctly.
  • If the mailbox was just created, give it a moment.
  • Some addresses may be blocked or full.
