How to Choose a Hosting Plan¶
Picking a hosting plan is really about matching what you need today with room to grow tomorrow. You don't need to be technical to choose well — here's how to think about it.
The three questions that decide it¶
1. What are you putting online? A simple brochure site, a blog, an online store — each needs a little more than the last.
2. How much traffic do you expect? "Traffic" is how many people visit. A brand-new site might get a few dozen visitors a month; a growing business might get thousands.
3. Do you need email? Most hosting plans include email on your domain. If you only need email and no site, look at Email Hosting instead.
What the plan sizes mean¶
| Plan | Best for |
|---|---|
| Starter | A personal blog, a small business site, a few pages and one or a couple of email addresses. |
| Standard / Popular | A growing small business, a few websites, more email addresses and storage. |
| Advanced | A busier site, more storage and bandwidth, several websites or email accounts. |
The main things that scale between plans are disk space (how much you can store) and bandwidth (how much traffic you can handle).
Start where you are¶
You can always upgrade later — upgrading is easy and doesn't lose your data (see Upgrade or downgrade your plan). So there's no need to over-buy at the start.
Practical advice: begin with the entry-level plan, keep an eye on your usage in the control panel, and upgrade if you start getting close to your limits. That's the smart way to pay for only what you use.
Email¶
Every hosting plan from Blue Nebula Hosting includes email on your own domain. If you're not sure how many addresses you need, most small businesses do fine with a handful.

Still not sure?¶
That's completely normal — it's hard to predict a new site's growth. The best move is often to start simple and grow when you need to. If you'd like a recommendation, contact support and tell us what you're building; we'll suggest the right fit.
