Set Up Email on a Computer

Connect your Blue Nebula Hosting email to Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or any desktop email client. You'll need the connection settings from the control panel — see Create an email address.

General settings

Setting Value
Incoming server (IMAP) your hostname, port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP) your hostname, port 465, SSL/TLS
Username your full email address (e.g. you@yourdomain.com)

Most desktop clients ask for your email address and password first, then the server settings. Use IMAP (not POP3) so email stays synced across all your devices.

In Outlook

  1. Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. If it doesn't auto-detect, choose Manual setup and enter the incoming/outgoing server details above.
  4. Finish and test sending.

In Apple Mail

  1. Open Apple Mail → Mail → Add Account → Other Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, email address, and password.
  3. Choose server type IMAP and fill in the hostname and ports.

In Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird → Add Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, email address, and password.
  3. Thunderbird often auto-detects the settings; if not, click Manual config and enter them.

Trouble sending? Make sure your SMTP port and security type are correct, and that "authentication" is on with your full email address as the username.
